Ingredients
- 500 gms Chicken
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 2 tbsp pepper powder
- 2 big Onions chopped
- 1 sprig of curry leaves ( leaves separated)
- 4 to 5 green chilly slit
lengthwise
- 1 tsp of dark soya sauce
- Oil
- Salt to taste
Method
- Marinate the chicken in pepper
powder, salt , ginger paste, garlic paste and 1 tbsp of oil for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a non stick thick
bottom pan. Add curry leaves, when curry leaves splutter add chopped onions and
slit green chilly and roast till the onion turns transparent.
- Add marinated chicken and mix
well.
- Add 1 tsp of dark soya sauce and mix well.
- Cook in low flame for approximate
20 minutes or till chicken is cooked.
- Adjust salt as per taste
- Serve hot with steamed rice or
roti.
Tips
- Add freshly ground pepper powder while marinating the chicken, this gives a very nice peppery aroma to the dish
- Finely chopped capsicum can also be added to the dish along with onions
